The content of the Gita is the conversation between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra war. The royal Pandava family are at war - robbed of their kingdom and exiled by their envious cousins, the five heroic brothers are about to go into battle. Seeing both friends and relatives on both sides, one of the brothers, Arjun, is filled with fear and facing a dilemma. Turning to Lord Krishna, he seeks his counsel and spiritual guidance - the Bhagavad Gita.
